Ingredients
For the Cake:
1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
2 ½ cups (500 g) granulated sugar
6 large eggs, at room temperature
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup (120 ml) whole milk
For the Caramel Glaze:
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
6 tbsp (85 g) unsalted butter
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake:
Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F). Grease and flour a bundt pan or loaf pan.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth and fluffy.
Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until light and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the batter in batches, alternating with the milk.
Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
2. Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 70–85 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
3. Make the Caramel Glaze:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a deep amber color.
Carefully add the butter and stir until melted.
Slowly pour in the heavy cream (it will bubble), stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Let the caramel cool slightly until it thickens.
Final Touch:
Drizzle the warm caramel glaze generously over the cooled cake.
Let it set slightly before slicing.
Tips for Best Results:
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth batter.
Do not overmix after adding flour to keep the cake tender.
For extra flavor, sprinkle a little sea salt over the caramel glaze.
Soft, creamy, and drenched in golden caramel—this cake is pure comfort in every bite!
