Christmas Jam (Cranberry–Strawberry Holiday Jam)
A bright, sweet-tart refrigerator jam made with cranberries, strawberries, and sugar. Perfect for toast, holiday cheese boards, or homemade gifts!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cranberries (rinsed and drained)
- 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen, hulled and sliced)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh preferred)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional, for a warm holiday flavor)
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit
Combine cranberries, strawberries, lemon juice, and water in a medium saucepan. - Cook Until Soft
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce to medium heat and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and strawberries soften. - Add Sugar and Spices
Stir in the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Continue cooking for 10–15 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture thickens.
(It will thicken more as it cools.) - Blend (Optional for Smooth Jam)
Use an immersion blender to reach your preferred texture — smooth or slightly chunky. - Cool and Store
Let cool for 20–30 minutes.
Transfer the jam to clean jars.
Refrigerate for up to 3–4 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
Makes: About 2–3 cups of jam
