 Christmas Jam (Cranberry–Strawberry Holiday Jam)

A bright, sweet-tart refrigerator jam made with cranberries, strawberries, and sugar. Perfect for toast, holiday cheese boards, or homemade gifts!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (rinsed and drained)
  • 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen, hulled and sliced)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh preferred)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional, for a warm holiday flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit
    Combine cranberries, strawberries, lemon juice, and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook Until Soft
    Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
    Reduce to medium heat and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and strawberries soften.
  3. Add Sugar and Spices
    Stir in the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
    Continue cooking for 10–15 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture thickens.
    (It will thicken more as it cools.)
  4. Blend (Optional for Smooth Jam)
    Use an immersion blender to reach your preferred texture — smooth or slightly chunky.
  5. Cool and Store
    Let cool for 20–30 minutes.
    Transfer the jam to clean jars.
    Refrigerate for up to 3–4 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
