Ingredients
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
1 pound frozen seafood mix, thawed and drained
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, divided
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small shallot, finely chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken or seafood broth
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
Prepare the seafood Pat the thawed seafood mix dry with paper towels. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.
Sear the seafood Heat 1 tablespoon butter and the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seafood mix and cook for 2–3 minutes, just until lightly opaque and slightly golden. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Build the flavor base In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Add the shallot and sauté for 2 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic, paprika, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Create the cream sauce Pour in the broth and let it simmer for 2 minutes, scraping up any flavorful bits from the pan. Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
Finish the sauce Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add the remaining salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Combine Return the seafood to the skillet and gently toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook for 2–3 minutes, just until the seafood is heated through. Avoid overcooking.
Garnish and serve Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan, if desired.
