Lazy Lasagna (Ravioli Lasagna)

Lazy Lasagna (Ravioli Lasagna)

Time:

Prep: 10–15 minutes

Cook: 35–45 minutes

Total: About 50–60 minutes

Servings:

6–8 servings

Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 jar (24 oz / ~700 g) pasta sauce (marinara or your favorite)

1 bag (20–25 oz / ~600–700 g) frozen ravioli (cheese, spinach & cheese, or meat)

2–3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (extra flavor)

Equipment

9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish

Skillet

Oven

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Preheat to 350°F (175°C)

2. Cook the beef

Heat a skillet over medium heat

Add ground beef and cook until browned (6–8 minutes)

Break it apart as it cooks

Drain excess grease

3. Make the meat sauce

Add the full jar of pasta sauce to the cooked beef

Stir and let simmer for 2–3 minutes

4. Prepare the baking dish

Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom (prevents sticking)

5. Layer the lasagna

Repeat layers (about 3 times):

Layer frozen ravioli (single layer)

Add a layer of meat sauce

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese

Repeat until the dish is full

Finish with a generous layer of cheese on top

6. Bake

Cover with foil (optional, helps prevent over-browning)

Bake for 35–40 minutes

7. Broil (optional but delicious)

Remove foil

Broil on LOW for 3–5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden

8. Rest & serve

Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before cutting

This helps it hold its shape

Serving Ideas

Serve with:

Garlic bread

Fresh salad

Tips

No need to thaw ravioli—use straight from frozen

Add Italian seasoning or garlic for extra flavor

Mix in ricotta cheese for a creamier texture

Use a mix of cheeses (mozzarella + cheddar + parmesan)

Variations

Use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef

Add chili flakes for spice

Add spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost

Use meat-filled ravioli for extra richness

Why it’s called “Lazy”

Because you skip:

Boiling pasta

Making layers from scratch

But still get a classic lasagna taste with half the effort
