4-Ingredient Homemade Bread
4-Ingredient Homemade Bread
Soft, fluffy, and incredibly easy — perfect for first-time bread bakers. No mixer needed!
Ingredients
1½ cups warm water (about 370 ml, not hot)
2 tsp active dry yeast (about 7–10 g)
4 cups all-purpose flour (about 500 g)
1 tsp salt
Instructions
Activate the Yeast
In a large bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Make the Dough
Add the flour and salt. Stir with a spoon or spatula until a soft, sticky dough forms.
Knead Lightly
Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 3–5 minutes, just until smooth.
First Rise
Place dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a clean towel and let rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, until doubled in size.
Shape the Bread
Punch down the dough gently. Shape into a loaf or round boule and place on a lined baking tray or in a greased loaf pan.
Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
Cool & Serve
Let bread cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
