These fun, colorful treats are a playful twist on the classic! The melted Peeps add bright swirls of color and extra marshmallow flavor, making them perfect for holidays, parties, or just a sweet treat at home.
Servings: 12–16 squares
Ingredients:
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 (12 oz / 340 g) bag mini marshmallows (or regular marshmallows)
1/4 cup (60 g) butter
3–4 Peeps chicks (yellow, pink, purple, or mixed colors)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pan
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish with butter or nonstick spray. Set aside.
2. Melt Butter & Marshmallows
In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter completely.
Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until they are fully melted and smooth.
3. Add the Peeps
Add the Peeps chicks to the pot.
Stir gently until they melt into the mixture, creating a colorful, sticky marshmallow base.
4. Mix in the Cereal
Remove from heat.
Add the Rice Krispies cereal and fold gently until all the cereal is evenly coated.
5. Press into the Dish
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Lightly grease a spatula (or your hands) and press the mixture evenly into the pan without packing it too tightly.
6. Let It Set
Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or until set but still soft.
7. Slice & Serve
Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy the gooey texture and fun pops of color from the Peeps!
Tips for Best Results:
Use low heat to avoid hard or dry treats.
Don’t press too firmly—this keeps them soft and chewy.
Add extra Peeps pieces on top for decoration before they set.
Store in an airtight container for up to 2–3 days.
Optional Variations:
Mix in chocolate chips or sprinkles
Use fruity or flavored cereal for a twist
Drizzle melted white chocolate on top for extra sweetness
