Ultimate Cheesy Tater Tot Beef Bake (Golden, Crispy & Irresistible!)
Ingredients:
500 g (1 lb) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce or pasta sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
1 bag frozen tater tots
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Cook the beef mixture:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Brown the beef:
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
Season and simmer:
Stir in the tomato sauce, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes to develop flavor. If using sour cream, mix it in at this stage for a richer texture.
Assemble the casserole:
Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer, covering the entire surface.
Bake to perfection:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
Finish with cheese (optional but recommended):
Sprinkle a little extra cheese on top and return to the oven for 5 more minutes until melted and bubbly.
Serve and enjoy:
