Easy Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwiches
Ingredients:
8 slices bread (white, sandwich bread, or baguette slices)
4–8 slices ham
4 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss)
2–3 tablespoons butter (softened)
1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
½ teaspoon dried parsley or Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the bread
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
(Optional: Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise and mustard on the inside.)
2. Assemble the sandwiches
Place 1–2 slices of ham on a slice of bread
Add a slice of cheese on top
Cover with another slice of bread (buttered side facing outward)
3. Cook the sandwiches
Option 1: Skillet (Best flavor)
Heat a pan over medium heat
Place sandwiches in the pan
Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy
Press lightly with a spatula
Option 2: Oven (Great for multiple sandwiches)
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
Place sandwiches on a baking tray
Bake for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through
Option 3: Sandwich maker / panini press
Cook for 3–5 minutes until crispy and cheese is melted
Optional Flavor Upgrade:
Mix melted butter with:
Garlic powder
Parsley
A pinch of salt
Brush it on top before baking for a bakery-style finish
Serving Ideas:
Serve hot with fries or chips
Add a side salad
Pair with soup for a cozy meal
Tips:
