4 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Lightly grease the slow cooker with butter to prevent sticking.

Add the rice, milk, heavy cream, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the slow cooker. Stir well.

Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking if possible.

When the rice is soft and the pudding becomes thick and creamy, stir in the vanilla extract and raisins.

Let the pudding rest for 10 minutes before serving for an even creamier texture.

Serve warm with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon or chill in the refrigerator for a classic cold rice pudding dessert.
