Cheesy Avocado Caprese Platter
A fresh, colorful, no-cook platter that’s juicy, creamy, and finished with a sweet balsamic drizzle. Perfect for gatherings, brunch, or a light dinner.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
2 cups cherry tomatoes (red + yellow), halved
1–2 medium tomatoes, sliced (optional)
8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
2 ripe avocados, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or parsley)
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
Optional for serving:
Warm crusty bread or crackers
Instructions
1️⃣ Season the Tomatoes
Place the halved cherry tomatoes in a bowl.
Add olive oil, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Toss gently until coated. Let sit 5–10 minutes to release juices.
2️⃣ Prep the Fresh Ingredients
Slice the avocados just before assembling (to prevent browning).
Slice medium tomatoes if using.
Drain mozzarella well so the platter doesn’t get watery.
3️⃣ Assemble the Platter
On a large serving platter, arrange in rows or a circular pattern:
Tomatoes
Mozzarella balls
Avocado slices
Alternate colors for a pretty presentation.
4️⃣ Add Flavor
Spoon any remaining seasoned olive oil from the tomato bowl over the platter.
5️⃣ Finish with Drizzle
Drizzle balsamic glaze evenly across the top.
6️⃣ Garnish
Sprinkle chopped basil (or parsley) over everything.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
Tips for Best Results
Use ripe but firm avocados so slices hold their shape.
Pat mozzarella dry with paper towels for a cleaner look.
If making ahead, prep everything except the avocado and assemble just before serving.
Want extra flavor? Add a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt at the end.
Serving Ideas
