Soft Vanilla Sweet Bread Rolls

These soft vanilla sweet bread rolls are light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet with a rich buttery flavor. They’re easy to make and perfect for breakfast, tea time, or as a comforting homemade treat fresh from the oven.

Ingredients

60 ml warm water

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon dry yeast

3 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

8 g vanilla sugar

250 ml warm milk

80 g melted butter

500–550 g all-purpose flour

For Brushing

1 egg yolk

1 tablespoon milk

 

 

 

Instructions

Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, 1 teaspoon sugar, and dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, warm milk, and melted butter. Add the activated yeast mixture.

Add the Flour

Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let It Rise

Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Shape the Rolls

Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls or rolls. Arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Second Rise

Cover again and let rise for 20–30 minutes until puffy.

Brush & Bake

Mix the egg yolk with milk and brush over the tops. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.

 

 

 

Serve & Enjoy

Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with butter, jam, honey, or a cup of tea or coffee.
